x5 Alienum Event in Second Life... and Not a Single Avatar Showed Up?!
If you’ve spent any time exploring events in Second Life, you know how unpredictable things can be. But this recent livestream truly caught me off guard.
I headed over to an x5 Alienum event at Nomia's Little Place, expecting the usual buzz, avatars everywhere, competition for casts, and that classic Linden Dollar energy in the air. Instead? Total silence.
Not a single avatar in sight.
Now here’s the weird part: it was an x5 event. Normally, that multiplier draws a crowd instantly. More chances, more excitement, more potential rewards. But this time? Nothing. It honestly made me wonder, are avatars just not as excited about Linden Dollars anymore?
Nomia’s Little Place lived up to its name, it’s cozy. Definitely little. But funnily enough, it’s still bigger than my own place, so no complaints there! The space wasn’t the issue. The event wasn’t broken. The cast/extract limit was just 15, which is actually pretty manageable.
And here’s where it gets interesting.
With zero competition, I managed to hit my 15 extract limit in under 30 minutes. That’s lightning fast for an Alienum session. No waiting. No scrambling. No avatar crowd chaos. Just in, grind, done.
From a strategy standpoint? Honestly, kind of amazing.
From a community vibe standpoint? A little concerning.
Part of what makes Second Life events fun is the shared experience. Seeing avatars show up, chatting, competing, hanging around. Without that, it feels like you stumbled into a parallel universe where the memo didn’t go out.
Meanwhile, over on Kick, I’m still dealing with random spam in other channels (because of course we are 😅). But hey, at least the Alienum grind was smooth.
So what’s going on? Is interest shifting? Timing issue? Event fatigue? Or just one of those unpredictable Second Life moments?
Either way, it turned into one of the fastest and strangest x5 Alienum runs I’ve had.
Sometimes the biggest surprise... is nobody showing up at all.
