Collected Stones, Wood and Leaves in Mayday: The Survival Island
Hey guys!
I don't have any money to buy games on a regular basis. If I do get some money then I usually spend it on highly discounted games. Where do I buy these highly discounted games from, Steam. The good thing is, even without money, I still get games and I get some of them from Keymailer.
Today, I claimed a game in Keymailer called Mayday: The Survival Island. The game is a survival crafting and building open world game with Pixel Art style graphics. I claimed the Steam Key from Keymailer and quickly claimed the game in Steam. The game only required a small amount of hard drive space. I downloaded the game. Installed it and started playing.
The only thing I changed in the settings were: turned off music and switched to windowed mode.
Character creation was simple. I just chose between male and female. Went through a few options or choices and that was it. I'm not sure about the character name, though. I wanted to change it but the game wouldn't let me. I guess it's fixed for now.
The opening cut scene had a plane crashing on the island and the pilot of the plane was the character I created. After the cut scene, it was game time. Mayday: The Survival Island had a simple tutorial. My character told me what I needed to do next and I just did it. Yeah. It was that simple.
In the game, I collected stones, sticks and leaves. Crated tools. Used those tools to chop down trees for wood. Crated boards. Crafted traps. Crafted a chest to store things in. The core of the game was the same with other survival crafting building games. Collect. Craft. Build. Survive.
Of course, a survival game would have enemies to fight. On the island where my character landed, the enemies were slimes and bat. Slimes during the day. Bats at night. I fought a slime once and I won but I didn't do it again because my character almost died. I didn't even try fighting a bat. Also, my character had no weapon.
There weren't a lot of things to craft or build and it kinda sucked because I wanted to build or craft more things. I did craft a raft, though. The recipe was available and it was also a quest. My character sailed around the island on the raft. I tried going to the next island but the game didn't let me because I didn't have enough food.
When I got back on the beach, I knew what I needed to do. Get more food. I crafted traps and caught a few rabbits. I got meat from the rabbits. Cooked the meat and stored them in the chest. The plan was simple. Store enough food and travel to the next island. I also think the next island will unlock more recipes. Allowing for more builds.
So, the question now is? Did I enjoy playing Mayday: The Survival Island? Yes. I did enjoy playing the game. It's not in the same level as Conan Exiles but the core was there. Interested in the game? If you are then you will find the game in Steam. Search for Mayday: The Survival Island.
