Cowboy Hat & L$ Grind: x3 Virtual Fishing at The Notorious Kingdom in Second Life
There’s nothing quite like saddling up for a fishing grind in Second Life, especially when it’s the x3 Virtual Fishing event at The Notorious Kingdom Tiny Empires.
This time, I landed at the Stress area and managed to grab the first buoy. Four buoys, boosted fishing, and a whole lot of gray avatars. Yep... gray again. My viewer’s complexity settings were set to minimum, so most avatars looked like they hadn’t fully rendered. The Notorious Kingdom was packed!
I also debuted my avatar’s new look during the stream: cowboy hat, beard, greatsword, backpack, and even a PipBoy. It’s kind of a “post-apocalyptic cowboy adventurer” vibe. Honestly? I think it works.
Of course, livestreaming isn’t always nonstop commentary. There were moments when I had absolutely nothing to say, and that’s exactly why I use background music. It keeps the energy flowing when I go quiet. I even talked about whether there’s a lightweight Spotify player option out there. Also discussed how StreamBeats isn’t free to download anymore and now requires a subscription. And you know what? That’s fair. Creators need to eat too.
Fishing itself was going smoothly until my cast limit was reached. That meant moving to the next buoy... which was very laggy. Classic event lag. Still, the grind is worth it. Let’s be honest, what makes games like Virtual Fishing extra fun is earning those Linden Dollars (L$). That little cha-ching feeling never gets old.
I also talked about other ways to earn L$ in Second Life, like creating items, running a business, or offering services. Fishing is fun, but it’s just one path.
One mystery remains: there’s always a horse-running sound near the castle… but I’ve never actually seen a horse. Ever. If you’ve seen it, let me know.
Oh, and quick tip, if you rez a box, please clean it up before you leave. Let’s keep the kingdom tidy.
Until next cast… 🤠🎣
