Mining, House Tours & Real Talk in Shroud of the Avatar!
Hey guys,
In this recent 1-hour livestream of Shroud of the Avatar, I jumped in with a simple goal—mine some silver ores in Elysium Mines. Things started off pretty chill as I focused on gathering resources, which is honestly one of the parts of the game I actually enjoy.
But, as usual, things didn’t go exactly as planned.
Partway through the stream, a viewer asked if they could see my house in the game. Of course, I couldn’t say no to that! So I stopped mining and headed out to give them a quick tour. We visited my place and even passed through Whyte Roc, which added a nice little detour to the session.
Later on, I decided to take things even further and traveled to Beregost to show off my very first house—a Viking Inn. It was a fun trip down memory lane and a nice way to showcase one of the game’s better features: its housing system.
During the stream, I also shared some honest thoughts about the game. While Shroud of the Avatar has a lot of systems that sound great on paper, not all of them deliver in practice. Combat, for example, feels pretty underwhelming. The animations aren’t great, and overall, the fights lack that satisfying impact you’d expect.
That said, it’s not all bad. I still enjoy gathering resources, fishing, and some aspects of crafting. And like I mentioned earlier, the housing system is definitely one of the highlights for me.
Overall, the stream turned into a mix of gameplay, exploration, and real talk about the game’s strengths and weaknesses. It wasn’t what I originally planned—but honestly, that made it more fun and interesting.
I just hope that viewer had a great time watching and enjoyed the little house tours and my explanations about what the game is all about.
