GTX 1050 Removed. Switched To Onboard Graphics!

Support Kabalyero!

Hey guys!

I removed my GTX 1050, cleaned the contacts and placed it back. Did it fixed the problem? Yes. It fixed the problem but only for a week. After a week, the problem started happening again and, this time, cleaning the contacts did not work. So, what was the problem? The problem was, the display driver kept crashing. Everytime it crashed, it turned my screen black and it would stay that way until I force my PC to restart by pressing the power button.

The display driver crashing wasn't new. It would sometimes happen whenever there was a new display driver update from NVIDIA. So, the solution was simple. I would just update to the latest display driver and it would stop crashing. This time, it was different. Updating didn't fix anything. I even did a full clean uninstall and re-install of the driver.

I don't remember when I bought my GTX 1050 video card. Maybe, eight to ten years ago? What I do know is, it's old. I was using it on my previous PC and when that PC died, I got a new second hand PC and continued using it. That was back in 2021. Yeah. I got a second hand PC. Well, I had no money for a brand new one. Third world problem, I guess.

By removing my GTX 1050 video card, I had no choice but to switch to the onboard graphics or the iGPU. Fortunately, my second hand PC had onboard graphics or integrated graphics. The CPU was a Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics. An APU.

With my GTX 1050, I was able to play certain games but, with the AMD Vega Graphics, I wasn't quite sure. From what I've read online, AMD Vega Graphics was much weaker than my GTX 1050. If it was a struggle before. It's a harder struggle now trying to run newer games. I guess I could try, right? The worst that could happen, the game would not run at all or just crash to desktop.

Yeah, I was a bit sad when I removed my GTX 1050. I didn't want to switch to onboard graphics but, I guess, having it was kind of a blessing. Without it, I would had nothing. At least, I was still able to use my PC, play games and access the internet. As for getting a new video card? Maybe if I slept long enough. I might get one in my dreams.

Anyway guys, thank you for reading my entire post and, if you could, how about helping me get a new video card by donating any amount on my Ko-fi page. https://ko-fi.com/kabalyero 👍
