Fishing, Farming & Finding 200 Worms for 7L$ in Second Life
I recently jumped into Second Life to check out the x2 Virtual Fishing event at California Dreamin’, and wow, the place was packed. At first, I thought everyone just really loved fishing. Turns out, there was also a club event happening at the same time, so the region was buzzing with avatars dancing, chatting, and casting lines.
If you’ve ever watched a busy Second Life event, you might have noticed that sometimes avatars look grey or don’t fully rez. During the stream, I explained that this was because I lowered my complexity settings. It’s a simple trick to help reduce lag, especially when a region is crowded. The downside? Lots of grey people. The upside? Smoother gameplay!
For music, I used StreamBeats. When you’re livestreaming, you can’t just play any song you like, that can lead to copyright issues. StreamBeats allows streamers to use their music as long as you give proper attribution. It makes things so much easier and keeps everything safe for your channel.
Now let’s talk about Virtual Fishing. It’s not just about casting a line and waiting. There’s also a farming system built in, but instead of growing crops, you grow worms! And those worms are used as bait. I honestly love how creative that is. It adds another layer to the experience and makes it feel more interactive than just clicking a fishing rod.
During the stream, I also received a contest group notice from Xundra’s Fishing. I wasn’t very familiar with their system before, but it reminded me a bit of 7Seas Fishing. It looks like they’ve embraced autocasting too, which is a nice feature for more relaxed fishing sessions.
One of the best moments? Finding someone selling Virtual Fishing “Can of Worms” for just 7L$. Of course I bought a couple of cans. After using them, I ended up with 200 worms. That’s what I call a bargain.
All in all, it was a fun, chill stream filled with fishing, farming, music, and unexpected finds, exactly why I love exploring Second Life events. 🎣
