Trying Xundra’s Fishing for the First Time in Second Life

I recently tried something new in Second Life, I joined the Xundra’s Fishing one-hour contest at Xundra’s Fishing Headquarters. It was actually my first time using the Xundra system, and I went in not really knowing what to expect.

If you’ve ever tried 7Seas fishing in Second Life, the mechanics will feel very familiar. You equip a fishing rod, wear the HUD, and start casting when the contest begins. That part felt almost the same. The big difference? Xundra’s Fishing doesn’t use bait. That immediately makes things simpler. No worrying about running out of bait or buying more before a contest starts.

Another nice surprise was that the fishing rods were completely FREE. I just grabbed the free Xundra fishing rod and HUD, equipped them, enabled autocasting, and waited for the timer to begin. Once the contest started, my avatar automatically cast the line, easy and stress-free.

What really surprised me was the number of participants. There were a lot of people fishing during the event. In my experience with 7Seas contests, you usually see big crowds only when the prize pot goes over 1,000 Linden Dollars. This made me wonder: is Xundra’s Fishing more popular right now? Or was it just a particularly active event? I honestly don’t know, but it was interesting to see such a strong turnout.

I spent the full hour fishing and hoping for some lucky catches. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on my side this time, and I didn’t place in the rankings. Still, I had a good time. Sometimes it’s not really about winning, it’s about trying something new and seeing what’s out there.

Overall, I’m glad I gave Xundra’s Fishing a try. It’s always nice to discover alternative systems in Second Life, especially when they’re beginner-friendly and free to start. If you enjoy fishing games in SL, it might be worth checking out and seeing which system you prefer.

Have you tried Xundra’s Fishing before?
