Shroud of the Avatar! Losing Players by BANNING Them!
Shroud of the Avatar is a niche game with a very niche playerbase which basically means it doesn't have a lot of players playing which is not a bad thing specially if the target is a very niche market.
Anyway, Shroud of the Avatar had lost a good amount of players since persistence and many of these players were what you would call big spenders.
Fortunately for Shroud of the Avatar, the game still has a good number of super dedicated players with bottomless wallets and they are the ones keeping the game afloat.
Speaking of dedicated players. Recently, one of those players left the game and, the reason why he left was, he was banned from the game.
According to the player, he was banned for being too critical of the game, for toxicity and for causing whales to leave the game.
You don't believe me? Well, here are video clips of him saying the reasons why he was banned.

I'm not sure if any of the stated reasons were true but I don't think criticizing the game and the developers is reason enough to ban anyone.
Calling whales and telling them to leave the game is like saying these whales have no will of their own and can be easily manipulated by anyone.
I'm not saying it didn't happen, maybe it did. I just find it hard to believe that these whales were easily manipulated by another player into leaving the game.
As for the toxicity, I don't know the player enough to say whether he was toxic or not in the game or in the forums to deserve a ban from the game.
There you go, if you are playing Shroud of the Avatar and you don't want to get banned from the game then just don't say anything negative about it inside the game or in any of the game's communities like the forum, discord server, twitch channel, facebook page and others and you'll be safe from the ban hammer.
As for me, all I can say is... I LOVE SHROUD OF THE AVATAR and I LOVE CHRIS SPEARS... and EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! (This is ME trying to avoid the BAN HAMMER... LOL!)
So guys, does banning players for petty reasons a good way of keeping a solid playerbase? Post your answers as well as your comments, questions or reactions in the comments section below.
