Shroud of the Avatar still a MEMORY HOG! Beware!

Shroud of the Avatar has improved through the years, at least, according to the developers but, in my opinion, there is, at least, one thing it has not improved on and that is memory usage. Shroud of the Avatar is still a memory HOG.

When I first played Shroud of the Avatar my system RAM or memory was only at 4 GB. Sadly, it was not enough and that made me spend the little money I had on additional system RAM.

The Sword of Midras - (Blade of the Avatar) by  Tracy Hickman & Richard Garriott (Paperback)

So, I upgraded my system RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB. Shroud of the Avatar was playable at 6 GB of RAM but I had to exit the game from time to time to free up system RAM to keep my computer from freezing.

After some time, I was able to upgrade my system RAM from 6 GB to 8 GB which is the current minimum system RAM requirement for the game but it was still not enough.

Some time later, I got some money and used it to upgrade my system RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB and I'm no longer running out of system RAM when playing Shroud of the Avatar.

Even though, I'm no longer running out of system RAM, Shroud of the Avatar has not changed when it comes to system RAM or memory usage.

You see, in my recent gameplay of Shroud of the Avatar, I noticed that it was using over 8 GB of system RAM. If I was not able to upgrade my system RAM to 16 GB then my computer would have froze, again.

Unfortunately, as a player, there is really nothing you can do except spend money to upgrade your system RAM if you are running out of system RAM or memory when playing Shroud of the Avatar.

I don't think the developers will do anything to prevent Shroud of the Avatar from using too much system RAM specially when the core players are financially more than capable of upgrading their system RAM to infinity if they want to.

Anyway, if you only have 8 GB of system RAM and you are not planning on upgrading your system RAM anytime soon then try playing something else like maybe UO Outlands or City of Heroes Homecoming.

So guys, have any of you experience your computer freezing for running out of system RAM? It sucks right? Post your answers as well as your comments, questions or reactions in the comments section below.
