Combat in "Heartwood Online" is rather simple and can be repetitive. You'll spend a lot of time holding down the left mouse button, especially when fighting higher-level enemies. I couldn't help but wish for an auto-attack feature to save my mouse-clicking finger from fatigue.

Leveling up grants you talent points that you can allocate to various stats like health, power, and more. It's a familiar RPG mechanic that allows for character customization.

Crafting is a significant aspect of the game, requiring you to gather materials and create various items. Initially, I struggled to find the right resources to craft items, but as I progressed, it became clearer.

Mining, woodcutting, and fishing are activities you can engage in for resources. These gathering activities are straightforward and don't require constant clicking, which is a plus.

One thing that became evident as I played more was the game's grindy nature. Progression can feel slow, especially when hunting for specific resources or facing tough enemies. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you enjoy the classic MMORPG grind, it could be right up your alley.

"Heartwood Online" is a game with simple controls and a cute pixel art style. It offers a different MMORPG experience, albeit with some grindy elements. If you're a fan of classic MMORPGs and don't mind repetitive gameplay, you might find enjoyment in "Heartwood Online." However, it's still in early access, so it could undergo significant changes in the future.

As a casual gamer, I appreciate its simplicity and the fact that it's free to play. Whether you decide to keep it installed or not, "Heartwood Online" is worth a try if you're in the mood for a charming, pixelated adventure.
