Ragnarok Online 2 Philippines, Coming Soon

I love Ragnarok Online. It's the first MMORPG I've every played. The only reason why I quit playing it was because of the rampant use of bots by other players. The fact that Level Up Games were powerless to stop botters from ruining the game didn't help change my mind about quitting.

Quitting Ragnarok Online wasn't all bad because I was able to trade my Ragnarok Online account for a Playstation One unit. It was a good trade because, back then, a brand new PS One unit was still highly priced.

When I learned about Ragnarok Online 2 having it's first English server, I got very excited. I wanted to play in the Close Beta Test of the game but I decided to wait for Open Beta instead.

Unfortunately, the publisher of Ragnarok Online 2 in the SEA region threw a curve ball by suddenly announcing that only players in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are allowed to access and play the game. Licensing agreements with the developer were cited as the reason for the decision.

Obviously, this little announcement didn't stop players in the Philippines and in other countries from playing in Ragnarok Online 2 SEA. It also didn't stop me and I have to thank WTFast and Hotspot Shield for that. You can download WTFast at www.wtfast.com and Hotspot Shield at www.hotspotshield.com.

Anyway, the good news for players in the Philippines is that Ragnarok Online 2 is coming soon. According to various sources, Gravity is planning to release the game in North America and the Philippines in the first half of 2013. If that is true then we can expect our very own Ragnarok Online 2 server before June of 2013.

Who will publish Ragnarok Online 2 in the Philippines? My guess is Level Up Games because it's still running the original Ragnarok Online game here in the Philippines. It's also the biggest game publisher in the country today.

For now, if we want to play on an English server of Ragnarok Online 2 then we'll have to bypass the country block or IP block of Ragnarok Online 2 SEA and play there while we wait for our own Ragnarok Online 2 English server.

    Ha! it was the first online game i've played as well and i quit for the same reasons as most. Kung LUG pa rin ang magho-host, good luck nalang sa RO2 kng di pa rin natuto sa nangyari sa first MMORPG in the Philippines..

    North America is just about ready to launch their RO2 version but still no official news on the local front. Mukhang malabo ito mabuksan sa Pinas for the first half of the year.

    Hopefully may lumabas na balita about this before the end of 2013.

    ito din first MMORPG na nilaro ko, pero sadly after trying this game "RO2" hindi ko nagustuhan.. malayong malayo sa RO1 . . bakit kasi hindi nalang nila i3D yung game tapos spiced up lang yung sa quest and WOE

    Sana nga kahit this coming 1st quarter of 2014 mailabas na sana RO2 dito satin...ang problem lang kaya pa kaya ito hawakan ng LUG dahil balita nalulugi na sila at iilan na lang mga GM's nila na humahawak sa mga games,
