X4: Foundations First Look – Learning Space Travel, Combat and Docking
Hey guys,
I finally got the chance to try X4: Foundations, a game I’ve been curious about for a long time after hearing so many good things about it. Thanks to a Steam Key I received from Keymailer, I jumped right in and started my journey into this massive space simulation game.
The very first thing I did was go through the Basic Tutorials, and honestly, that was a great decision. X4: Foundations has a lot going on, so learning the basics early really helps. The tutorials covered everything from walking around and basic movement to space travel and even combat. It was a smooth introduction and didn’t feel overwhelming at all.
One thing that stood out to me right away was the ship interface. It actually reminded me a lot of Elite: Dangerous, which is a good thing if you’re already familiar with that style of gameplay. Everything felt somewhat familiar but still unique enough to keep things interesting.
Now, I’ll admit—there was one part where I got stuck for a few minutes: docking. 😅 It took a bit of trial and error, but once I figured it out, it felt pretty satisfying. Moments like that are part of what makes games like this enjoyable.
Another thing I really appreciated was the game’s optimization. Even on the lowest graphics settings, X4: Foundations still looked good. That’s something I always like to see in games, especially for players who may not have high-end systems.
Overall, my first experience with X4: Foundations was a positive one. If you enjoy space simulation games like Star Citizen or Elite: Dangerous, then this is definitely a game worth checking out. It has depth, great visuals, and a solid learning curve that doesn’t feel punishing.
