Is Fish Hunt Still Worth It? My x3 Event Experience in Second Life
I recently headed over to Go Parc Club in Second Life for an x3 Fish Hunt event, and I was curious to see how active it would be. Triple payout events usually attract a crowd, right?
Well... not this time.
There weren’t many avatars participating, which got me wondering: is Fish Hunt not as popular as it used to be? I honestly don’t know, but the quieter vibe was noticeable.
One of the first things I did was look for a Fish Hunt bait vendor at the event location. Surprisingly, I couldn’t find one anywhere. That was a little inconvenient. Later on, I ended up going to Fish Hunt HQ to buy bait, where the cheapest option was L$0.2 per cast. That’s actually twice the cost of Virtual Fishing bait, so it definitely adds up.
We also talked about the Fish Hunt HUD. It’s important and enhances the experience, but technically, it’s optional. As long as you have the Fish Hunt fishing rod, you can still participate. So if you’re missing the HUD, you’re not completely locked out.
Profit-wise, here’s my honest take: if you’re going to fish at an x1 Fish Hunt buoy or x1 Celestial Butterfly stump, you’re probably better off doing x1 Virtual Fishing or x1 Magic Fishing. The returns tend to be stronger and more consistent.
During the stream, I tried searching for Alienum HQ, but it looked like the region was down. On top of that, I couldn’t hear Fish Hunt’s sound cues. After checking settings, I realized avatar sounds were disabled for non-group members. Mystery solved!
I also noticed several players wearing the Heart of Society accessory. I put mine on too, though I wasn’t thrilled with the color I had. After the event, I kept grabbing new ones until I got something better. I was aiming for Black or White... but I settled on Red in the end.
All in all, it was an interesting event, profitable, but with a few surprises along the way.
