Land Owners Know What They're Doing | InSecondLife

Hey guys,

A while ago, there was some chatter in Virtual Fishing group in Second Life about Land Owners are not making money from selling bait or worms with their Virtual Fishing setup. Some people are blaming those who are selling worms at a very low price of 6L$ and even 5L$ per can of Small Worms. I'm not sure why they're even arguing about this in group chat. What I'm sure of is this, Land Owners know what they're doing and know what they wanted from Virtual Fishing when they placed the buoy on their lands.

It's not 100% but it's safe to say that majority of Land Owners with Virtual Fishing are not doing it to make money from Virtual Fishing by selling bait or worms. Most probably, they're doing it for Land Traffic or to get people to come to their place and maybe check the place out. If there are Land Owners that placed Virtual Fishing buoys on their land to make money from selling bait or worms then they're in the wrong business, they're doing it wrong.

Virtual Fishing and others like Celestial Butterfly, Lindo, Fish Hunt, Magic Fishing, Crystal Craze, etc. are traffic generating systems or traffic generating games. Their main purpose is to generate Land Traffic for Land Owners to boost their position in Classic Search which is still used by most Avatars in Second Life. Some may just use them to giveaway Linden Dollars out of the goodness of their hearts but they're mainly for generating Land Traffic.

This talk in Virtual Fishing group about Land Owners quitting Virtual Fishing because they're not making money from doesn't really make any sense. Having or placing a Virtual Fishing buoy is for generating Land Traffic and not for directly making money from it. You might make money from Avatars coming to fish and seeing you have something good for sale or offering some kind of service they might use or need in Second Life. Not from selling bait or worms.

So, if you want to sell your Can of Small Worms at 6L$ or even 5L$ then just do it. Don't let other Avatars guilt you in doing what you want to do. Don't worry about Land Owners because they know what they were getting into. Land Owners in Second Life are not that st***d.

Anyway, thanks for reading my thoughts on this matter and if you want to support the blog or if you just want to buy me some coffee or help cover the cost of my heart maintenance medicines then please head on over to my Ko-fi page.
