Ragnarok Online 2 Philippines

The first English server of Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second was launched by Asiasoft in Southeast Asia or SEA but it was open to only four SEA countries and these four countries were Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Players from other SEA countries were blocked by AsiaSoft from accessing the game.

Ragnarok Online 2 players from the Philippines were forced to use Virtual Private Networks that have servers in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to access the game. AsiaSoft was blocking players from the Philippines because someone already owned the license to publish Ragnarok Online 2 here in the Philippines.

Ragnarok Online 2 Philippines License Owner

The question now is, who owns the license to publish Ragnarok Online 2 here in the Philippines? I'm not 100% sure but it's safe to assume that it's Level Up because they were supposed to publish the first version of Ragnarok Online 2 which was Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World.

Ragnarok Online 2

Unfortunately, Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World was scrapped and Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second was created instead. If Level Up has the license to publish Ragnarok Online 2 here in the Philippines then what are they waiting for? Christmas?

Asiasoft Philippines doesn't own the license to publish Ragnarok Online 2 here in the Philippines because if they did then they wouldn't block Philippine players from accessing Ragnarok Online 2 SEA.

Ragnarok Online 2 When?

Will Level Up ever use its license to publish Ragnarok Online 2? Only Level Up can answer this question. If you have a Level up account then you can try asking Level Up through their Customer Support site. I wanted to ask them myself but, for some reason, Level Up's Customer Support site won't let me login.

Anyway, Inquirer.net did write an article last 2006 and it said that Level Up was already preparing to introduce Ragnarok Online 2 here in the Philippines. That was also the year when Netgames merged with Level Up and eventually took over the company.

Where To Play Ragnarok Online 2?

Currently, Ragnarok Online 2 has two English servers published by two different companies. The first one is Ragnarok Online 2 SEA and it's published by Asiasoft. Asiasoft has an office here in the Philippines but it doesn't own the license to publish Ragnarok Online 2 here.

The other Ragnarok Online 2 server is published by Warp Portal and it's for North American players. unfortunately, Philippine players are blocked from this server as well.

If you wish to play in any of these two Ragnarok Online 2 English servers then you'll have to use a VPN to bypass the IP block or country block of the publishers. You can either use WTFast or Hotspot Shield to accomplish this task.

  1. to the creator of this thread, this information is outdated, levelupgames already announced that they will not be having a RO2 Philippine server or rather they cant anymore, another company has bought the Philippine publishing rights to it, im not sure exactly when this happened, anyway the company's name is Aeria-Games, since they're the official PH publisher now we can finally spend cash in the game and not have to keep using proxies to get in, unfortunately for those that already invested time and effort on the unofficial servers you'll have to start again from scratch.
